Impacts of land covers on stormwater runoff and urban development: A land use and parcel based regression approach

Extensive studies have shown that stormwater yield and quality in a city are heavily influenced by its land uses covers (LULC). However, the majority of these been done at major watershed levels using remote sensing data with only few urban LULC types lower resolutions. This empirical study City Corvallis, Oregon U.S. as case to establish robust regression relations between existing or parcel level environmental models high-resolution spatial data. The based on parcel-level hydrological conditions analysis assess watersheds parcels suitable for minimal highest single mixed-use development scenarios containing buildings, roads & driveways, sidewalks paths, parking lots open spaces. not can provide novel approach local jurisdictions evaluate impacts public plans built environment but assist private property owners estimate their projects. In addition analysing conducting green infrastructure design upon completed use plan previous studies, present work indicates necessity possibility apply planners managers making informed decisions regard initial stage.
